Jayson and Cori Heath are passionate about creating a space where people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and experience the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Both hold ministerial credentials with The Assemblies of God and are committed to Spirit-led, biblically grounded ministry. Their journey to launching Generation Church began long before the vision was ever put into motion.

In 2019, they returned to their home church and poured themselves into shepherding their community during a season of loss and transition. Even in the midst of serving faithfully, they began praying for God to open new doors for ministry. In 2023, those prayers were answered with the opportunity to plant a church in Northeast Shelby County, Alabama, a region where fewer than 17 percent of the population regularly attends church. They sensed a clear calling to help reignite faith in an area historically known as part of the Bible Belt but now marked by spiritual disconnection and significant needs, including a rise in opioid addiction.

Their heart for Generation Church is rooted in Psalm 145:4: “Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.” They are committed to empowering families and individuals through vibrant worship, sound biblical teaching, small group discipleship, and a culture of missional living. The vision is to see a church that gathers in faith and transforms the community by being the hands and feet of Jesus.

At the core of their leadership is a desire to cultivate a family-focused environment where people of all generations can connect with God and with one another. They are passionate about creating space for the Holy Spirit to move freely, leading, empowering, and equipping every person to live in freedom and walk confidently in their God-given purpose.
